⁠Apache KIE (incubating)

Apache KIE (incubating) is the home of the most popular business automation open-source technologies. It groups together a set of projects that have been at the forefront of business rules, business processes, decisions, planning and serverless workflow for over a decade.

The KIE project umbrella includes:

• Drools — Business rules engine with forward and backward chaining inference, supporting DRL, DMN and decision tables.
• jBPM — Business process management suite implementing BPMN 2.0.
• OptaPlanner — Constraint solver for optimization problems (employee rostering, vehicle routing, etc.).
• Kogito — Cloud-native business automation runtime targeting Quarkus and Spring Boot.
• SonataFlow — Cloud-native serverless workflows based on the CNCF Serverless Workflow specification.
• Tools — IDE extensions, web editors, container images and helpers that build on top of the above.

Apache KIE (incubating) is an effort undergoing incubation at the Apache Software Foundation (ASF), sponsored by the Apache Incubator PMC.

Incubation is required of all newly accepted projects until a further review indicates that the infrastructure, communications, and decision making process have stabilized in a manner consistent with other successful ASF projects.

While incubation status is not necessarily a reflection of the completeness or stability of the code, it does indicate that the project has yet to be fully endorsed by the ASF.
